THE CITADEL GRAND OPENING
BLOCK PARTY

About the Event:

On January 27th, 1952, the building that is now The Citadel food hall first opened as a First Federal Savings Bank. 67 years later, the community took in the beautifully preserved historical destination in all its glory for a full-day block party celebration! Attendees were among the first to experience the neighborhood's newest anchor for culture filled with community-driven experiences and delicious limited menu tastings of the tenants to come.

They got a tease of the food hall and met the culinary concepts like 'Ash!' a wood-fire pizza concept by Stanzione 87, or one of Miami's favorite Mexican eats Taquiza, and other great flavors like a charcuterie station, Vice City Bean cafe, Manjay a Haitian eatery, Palmar's Asian concept, sweets by the award-winning pastry master Antonio Bachour, burgers by the team behind 33 Kitchen, and more! Plus cocktails and brews crafted from the heart at the first floor bar.

Then, they explored 'The Finery', The Citadel's makerspace and retail arm for a very special takeover by The Indie Flea all the way from Tampa! They brought in over 30 spectacular artisanal, vintage, and artistic vendors from all over to bring life to the future retail arm.

Outside, crowds jammed to local tunes by the jaw-dropping Yoli Mayor, a special performance by the Latin funk kings, Xperimento and a funky set by SHENZI! Families enjoyed a kids corner by Little Creative Souls, interactive experiences, historical galleries and so much more as we took over the block for a full day of fun!
