Take Your Workout Indoors at These Favorite Spots

For those of us who spent a little too long loving our winter treats and fuller bodies, bikini season has come. We’re not shocked or anything, we’re just saying the jiggle is here so get used to it. But we do know that a healthy workout schedule is healthy and good for us or whatever so we’ll gladly put in the effort. Not in this weather though, no siree. So we’ve compiled a list of great local studios and gyms to wipe away your exercises and feel your best:
Who doesn’t love a good “OM” and a stretch? Tropical Vinyasa in Sunset Harbor is a perfectly-sized studio just tucked away from serious crowds. We love the more intimate Santuario in Little River with amazing classes as even more amazing prices. Sol Yoga is new in town and boasts delicious flow in infrared rooms for a full-body sweat.
Whether its strength or full body, Miami’s got great options for serious training. B-Fit has everything you need from bootcamp to personal training and beyond, plus enjoy the perks of a brand new spot. And there’s one in Miami Lakes. Shazam Fitness is a low-key crossfit workout in Little Havana and we love it. There’s always Orangetheory for when you want to balance cardio with strength training in a full 60-minute workout. Great for beginners.
A great of getting in some heavy cardio with minimal impact is jumping on a bike. But when you can’t ride in crazy weather, get stationary. You can go with the national chains or stick to local spots like Red Bike studio with their multiple locations in town. Wynwheels is another great option. Or you can get funky with it and try WaterBiking Studio in Coral Gables.
If you’re looking for a heavier, more serious sweat at a high-octane level, Miami’s got that covered. Sweat 440 is a new craze, with 4 interval rounds starting promptly every 10 minutes. Complete 4 and you’re done for the day. Body and Soul is a one-stop-shop for everything from dance and sculpting to boxing. TruFusion might be national, but its local branch is backed by Alex Rodriguez so Miami pride is allowed. It has everything from PRX classes, spinning, hot yoga and more.
Sometimes you need to trick your body into thinking it’s working out and just move. Budokon is a wonderful mixed movement alternative. Wynwood’s Republic of Movement houses great classes and even kinder instructors who immediately become your friends. Or go old school and get lean at The Pilates Place with low impact movement muscles.
And then you ask yourself: “If I’m going to be putting in work, why not have fun while I’m at it?” You can take intimate gravity training and bouldering (rock climbing) classes at Morphe Studio. We love getting our dance on at Smooth Rhythms Dance. Or get spicy with some aerial silk yoga classes at Stardust in Doral.
