I am not sure what is it about that state shaped like a mitten, but lately it has been gifting us some musical genius (thanks Michigan). Say hello to BØRNS, just recently releasing his debut full-length album, Dopamine, and it is a total reward, named to perfection. BØRNS brings you into a world of entrancing psychedelic indie pop sounds. These tunes are probably going to have you daydreaming Penny Lane style (Almost Famous anyone?) about running away with him on a tour bus. There is just something to his teasingly feminine tone you don’t want to escape. It is bound to have you wishing it were possible to take a dip into every track, letting every note cover you from head to toe.
So maybe I have developed a small crush on this man and just may be plotting the best route to make him my future husband but how could these musical sounds not make anyone feel this way? Luckily for myself, and all of my soon to be competition, this Friday brings the perfect chance to swoon him into being yours truly. If there was any debate on what your Friday evening Art Basel plans should be, look no further; BØRNS will be at the Wynwood Yard, ready to bring his sweet magic to your ears and get you dancing under the moonlight. All you have to do is RSVP and seeing this oddity is entirely free thanks to Standard Textile, Perrier, and Prism (yay! go us). Just another wonderful addition to the best music we are bringing to Art Basel this year.
But back to my new lover…over the past year BØRNS has been building an audience touring with the likes of the Misterwives and Charli XCX. And has also taken the stage at notable festivals such as Lollapalooza, Life is Beautiful and Austin City Limits. I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve heard BØRNS already and just didn’t know it. So go ahead and press play and get a taste of what you are in for this Friday. We cannot wait to get our groove on with all you beautiful folks!
