In an unassuming strip mall along Biscayne Blvd’s MiMo corridor lies more than just historical retro facades. The area is teeming with some of the city’s most authentic eats and hangs, and more importantly: desserts. Flavorish Bakery is just that kind of destination. Part gourmet shop, part purveyor of solidly delicious bites, it’s always a good idea. Plus, it’s just off the beaten path enough for that certified “local gem” approval.

A Bite of Love.

Two years ago, now owner Jorge Sanchez Quevedo and his wife Alejandra Díaz transformed the once gourmet market into a fully-fledged bakery and cafe. The item that makes regulars arise an hour earlier isn’t their Nutella latte (which is a must), but their croissants. Not only are they considered some of the best in the city, but there isn’t a morning where they don’t all sell out. All 600 of them. They’re perfectly baked, not too sweet, and have enough options for every croissant lover.

We’re not the only ones who think these croissants are no joke. They’re a big part of local favorites like Angelina’s Cafe in Midtown, Brickell’s Toasted, and Café Demetrio in Coral Gables. Due in part to the owners’ passion and love for all things food and friendliness, Flavorish is just one of those places you’re proud to know about. Like their incredible croissants, you’re happy to share with your friends. Here’s a deeper bite into the amazing pastries and the wonderful people behind them:
