After the gorgeous weather that has been flooding Miami these past few weeks, we know things are finally looking up and getting ready for some sweat-less times outside. Whether it’s holiday celebrations or just hanging with friends, our city has some quality goodness coming your way. Take a dive into the fun happenings we’ve spread for you:

Saturday, December 16th:

Wynwood: A History of Street ArtJoin HistoryMiami Museum and explore one of Miami’s trendiest and most dynamic neighborhoods – the Wynwood Art District. Learn how this textile warehouse and immigrant neighborhood, formerly known as “Little San Juan,” is quickly becoming the world’s largest outdoor art gallery. Stroll past vast murals and various street art displays, as you listen to the history of graffiti from the advent of written language to today.

Shaking For Puerto RicoThe USBG Miami Chapter and Don Q Rum will bring our South Florida community together as they present Shaking For Puerto Rico. Title Sponsor, Don Q, will have Piña Coladas and Coquito shaken up by Miami’s favorite trio, The Cocktail Cartel. Puerto Rican style bites with a touch of Miami Sazon will also be served from local restaurants including Ariete, the newly opened Shelley’s in South Miami, and 27 Restaurant. Beam Suntory will also be on site with a traditional Caja China prepared by Ms. Cheezious.

Veuve Clicquot Puppy BrunchThat’s right, the Puppy Brunch is happening and this time in collaboration with Veuve Clicquot Champagne. it’s going to be just as amazing as it sounds! Bring your furry friend for a Sunday of bubbles, doggy fun, activities, and all the treats they can dream of.

Sundays in the Park: A Musical LandscapeAIRIE presents a multi-sensory experience in celebration of the Everglades National Park’s 70th anniversary with “Still”
a 54 minute solo for piano played by Ashlee Mack and composed by James Romig, and live, site-specific painting by Harumi Abe.

Classic Album SundaysStarted in the UK in 2010, every month Classic Album Sundays HQ selects a seminal album and listening parties are held in cities around the world utilizing audiophile-quality equipment. For December Sweat is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of DR. DRE’s THE CHRONIC (1992)! Hear this hip hop essential like you never have before. To warm up they’ll be listening to PARLIAMENT’s seminal 1975 fourth album MOTHERSHIP CONNECTION.

Mozart Meets Hemingway and Siudy Dance TheaterThe South Florida Symphony Orchestra celebrates the opening of their 20th anniversary Masterworks Series with Mozart’s beloved Haffner Symphony, GRAMMY®-Winning cellist Zuill Bailey performing Michael Daugherty’s Tales of Hemingway, and the Siudy Garrido Flamenco Dance Company performing the sensuous music of Falla’s El amor brujo.

Nicaragua’s Spanglish Bar Takeover – Come get spicy and have a night of Latin flare at everyone’s favorite cocktail hang featuring guest mixologists, fun music, and of course, dancing.

Tuesday, December 19th:

The Creative ChapterIt tastes better when you close your eyes: Matthew Sherman, lululemon’s very own Lincoln Road ambassador and founder of jugofresh, will be leading an intimate conversation about breath, creativity, and life with artist Jenny Perez. Still the mind and access the deep layers of energy within the self as Megan Elizabeth, founder of Wynwood Yoga, guides us through a special breathwork session.

Miami Design District Public Art ToursJoin the Miami Design District, in partnership with Arts Encounters, for a free guided tour of the neighborhood’s world-renowned public art and architecture led by art critic, journalist and educator, Margery Gordon. Offered twice a month, the free tours are available during the Miami Design District’ monthly Sunday Family Day along with the last Wednesday of every month.

Thursday, December 21st:

Chinese Lantern FestivalBroward County’s Central Regional Park will host a new and spectacular family friendly event this holiday season, the Chinese Lantern Festival produced by Hanart Culture. The 8-week Lantern Festival is a totally immersive experience among Chinese culture, multi-hued “The Wild” animal lantern displays, live entertainment, authentic Chinese food, hand-made gifts by Chinese craftspeople, and more.

Brickell City Centre BiergartenThanks to our friends at Brickell City Centre, spend the evening sipping on suds from a handful of your favorite local brews from Boxelder Craft Beer Market and cocktails by Mac’s Pubs all under the famously gorgeous modern architecture. Get down to the tunes of local acts like energetic Latin Funk outfit, Xperimento and indie rockers, Soulixer. Grab a bite from delicious Miami eateries and pop-ups like Miami Smokers, Fritz & Franz Bierhaus, and Spris, partake in a patio game (or four) with your friends and drink in what makes this city so magical.

Holiday Concert Featuring Shelly BergMiami Design District Performance Series Presented by Knight Foundation heads to Palm Court in the Miami Design District for its weekly Friday night ensemble of live musical performances. Produced by 19-time Grammy© Award winning producer Emilio Estefan in collaboration with Maestro Eduardo Marturet (Miami Symphony Orchestra), the music series is offered FREE and open to the public.

Saturday, December 23rd:

Yoli Mayor Holiday ShowHoliday joy swells and takes over The Yard’s Simple Vodka Stage with a special holiday live musical performance by Miami’s sweetheart and fave singer-songwriter Yoli Mayor. Yoli, “Miami’s grown vocal powerhouse” and an America’s Got Talent veteran, is a first-generation Cuban-American who embodies Miami’s young Latino generation with new-school vibes influenced by old-school legends like Celia Cruz.

Give n GrooveHead to the historic Dance Pavilion at the beautiful Virginia Key Beach Park as we reunite with old friends, reminisce on the memories created this year, and look towards the future while raising awareness (and money, obviously) for a good cause. All profits from this event will be going to Fort Lauderdale’s Kids in Distress, which aims to help at risk youth better their situations.
