The fifth year of III Points Music Festival is only days away and we are excited to see the city come together for one of its musical highlights.
Their formula of musical selections is a mixture of big-name talents like Gorillaz and The XX blended perfectly with some local favorites. And to help with compiling festival schedules, we’ve narrowed down some of our favorite South Florida acts to catch while you’re gathering energy in between artists during the three-day event.
Experimental duo TWYN have taken old-school funk and rock to come out with a sound that is vintage and yet also modern. With the duo performing and producing together for 7 years and also working on their own projects while also touring with Cuban singer Danay Suarez, they have found their signature style that is a can’t miss to catch at this year’s festival or when the pair perform around the city.
Celebrating their tenth year, SAFE, a dance community based here in Miami, has been at the forefront of bringing experimental and underground electronic acts (such as Damian Lazarus, DJ Koze, Jamie Jones, Roman Flügel, and many more) to the magic city. The collective consists of residents Diego Andres, Artime, Patrick Walsh, Anshaw Black and Terrence Tabeau who will all be part of this year’s packed lineup, with each member putting in their own unique style and make sure to check them out during one of their SAFE nights at the Electric Pickle.
Describing themselves as an ‘avant-garde music project delving into the cosmic side of the dance floor and lounge music, Dude Skywalker combines disco, hip-hop, soul and jazz with deep and gritty house. As their name suggests, their space-funk sound has placed the Miami natives all over Miami’s hotspots and are set to take the stage once again at III Points
Puma & Harry
Hailing from Caracas, Venezuela Puma & Harry, although starting off with different musical upbringings (Harry being the indie rocker and Puma performing as a DJ), the two came together in Miami after discovering their true passion for electronic music. Their teamwork and disco-funk sound eventually landed them in club spots throughout Miami and festivals like Tomorrowland, Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival and III Points, which they are set to perform at again this year.
He’s pretty enigmatic in both sound and presence, but Twelve’len is one of those artists that’s so sure of who he is and wants to be in the musical sphere that it’s a pleasure to catch him live. Strained vocals and catchy lyrics draw you in but its his obvious understanding of artistry that makes him stand out among the local music scene.
Don’t miss out, grab tickets here.
