Our 7 Summer Shows You Can’t Miss

June 22, 2017

By Prism Prism

There are many things we can highlight about summer: the boat and pool parties, the indoor markets, the late-night film series, but what we really drool over is the epic tours that find their way routed down to South Florida during what people call Miami’s “low season.” From international mega-artists to emerging acts that call the city home, we’ve broken down the performances we can’t wait for (and you shouldn’t either).

Magic City Hippies at The Yard – June 24th

Start the summer off with a little local celebration at one of Miami’s best spots for outdoor jamming. Magic City Hippies have had an epic year, from playing a sold out American tour to killing it at Bonnaroo, they’re worth supporting at The Wynwood Yard for a great summer get down to kick it all off.
Where: The Wynwood Yard. RSVP here.

Paul McCartney – July 7th

Need we say more? But okay, we will. At age 75, this man knows how to command the attention of over 100,000 people and still play the songs you love with ease.
Where: American Airlines Arena. Get your tickets.

Steve Miller Band w/ Peter Frampton – July 14th

They’re a band with hits that many people may not know are attributed to this classic rock group. From “Joker” to “Stuck in the Middle With You”, you’ve heard their best tunes. Paired with the musical game-changer that is Peter Frampton, this show can’t be missed.

Where: Hard Rock Live. Get your tickets.

Bondax at Floyd Miami – July 15th

Bondax is an electronic music duo consisting of English musicians Adam Kaye & George Townsend. Bondax’s sound has often been described as genre-transcending; Moses Wiener of Dazed details the band’s sound as “the aural equivalent of sipping an ice-cold Pimms on the balcony of your council estate flat.”.
Where: Floyd Miami. Get your tickets.

Khalid – August 2nd

“Up and coming” is no longer a term that can be used for this R&B powerhouse. His hit track “Location,” released in mid-2016, hit the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart the following January. The show may be sold out but we beg you to try and get into this one.
Where: Fillmore Miami Beach.

John Mayer – August 12th

Whatever your opinions on the man might be aside, he’s a guitar genius with an exceptionally deep outlook on musical exploration. He’s also on this list because he’s a personal favorite of ours and we’ve made a point to see every one of his Florida shows…so yeah.
Where: BB&T Center. Get your tickets.

Kendrick lamar – September 2nd

Rap’s current king is reigning supreme and his Miami show is bound to be something epic. We still passionately rant about “Good Kid M.A.A.D City” whenever we get a chance and “DAMN.” was a great blend of hard hits and musical prowess from “To Pimp A Butterfly” so, see you there?
