YoungArts Salon Series: DISCOVERY & EMERGING TALENT
February 9, 2017
What do this year’s Oscar-nominated playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney (Moonlight), actress Viola Davis (Fences), and composer Jason Moran (13th) have in common? They found their passion at a critical time in their youth, they harnessed this passion toward pursuing a career in the arts, and they are all YoungArts alumni.
The Salon Series at YoungArts brings together the creative alumni voices and offers audiences an opportunity to engage with internationally renowned and emerging artists. The upcoming edition of the YoungArts Salon Series is dedicated to discovery, emerging talent, and career opportunities in the music industry.
On February 15, 2017, YoungArts alumna Victoria Canal (2015 Winner in Voice and U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts) will moderate a conversation with two Miami music giants, who will be sharing their industry insights with the audience. Bruno del Granado, the man behind Miami’s Creative Artists Agency, and producer Arthur Baker, known for his work with New Order and Afrika Bambaataa, will talk about discovering new talent, artist development and what it takes to make it, and invite the audience to ask questions, network and cultivate creative relationships.
