This Week On Biscayne Green
January 16, 2017admin
We couldn’t have asked for a more overwhelming and heart-warming reception of the Downtown Development Authority‘s pop-up promenade brainchild, Biscayne Green this past week. The Grand Opening itself saw over 2,000 attendees and Taste of Downtown gave residents a face-to-face connection with the eateries in their backyard. Now, Biscayne Green enters its second week and the stakes are about to get even higher.
The (free) magic continues with events all week, but we can’t help but highlight some of the best. Thursday, January 19th is the second of the “al Fresco” series but this time, it’s Flamenco with the Adrienne Arsht Center! Sit in awe of some of the most mesmerizing moves and musical ensembles, curated by The Arsht. Then, let out your inner dancer for some free form jams. Enjoy authentic cuisine by La Paella Chef, and sip on deep red wine and hand-crafted cocktails by Acme Lounge from 7PM – 10PM. Find out more here.
Kicking off the weekend is the second Biscayne Live concert series, right in the heart of the city. This Friday, we welcome one of Miami’s most elusive and sought after voices, Yoli Mayor for what will be a spell-binding performance. Plus, the stage is filled with more tunes to get those hips moving by Keith Johns. Enjoy fresh cocktails and local craft beer by Mac’s Pubs, and grub by Miami Smokers, Wynwood Parlor, and Paleta Vendetta. Pop-Up vendors include French75Vintage & more to be announced. Find out more here.
The big night of the weekend culminates this Saturday, January 21st for an epic day lounge brought to you by The Standard Spa. They’ll be bringing their signature yellow umbrellas and lounge chairs all next to a pop-up pool for theme’s sake. Yoga, meditation, live music, backyard games like corn hole and ping-pong, sun-kissed food from The Lido Bayside Grill, and most importantly, frosé on tap. If you didn’t know what The Standard was before this weekend, you will now. The outdoor festivities will span from 12PM – 5PM, make sure to RSVP here.
Rounding it all out is the final outdoor film screening at Biscayne Screen with O Cinema on Sunday, January 22nd from 7PM – 10PM. This past Sunday, the crowd gathered for a tribute to musical talents gone too soon so we continue the series with “Purple Rain”, a true landmark in all things Funk. Enjoy drinks by Mac’s Pubs, fresh Fufi Empanadas, a pop-up cheese stand by Whole Foods Market, popcorn by Boxelder Craft Beer Market and delicious sammies from Wynwood Parlor. Find out more here.
