This Week on Biscayne Green

January 10, 2017

In case you were one of the unlucky souls who missed the Biscayne Green Grand Opening on Friday, it was hands down, one of the most epic moments for Miami. With over two thousand attendees, the city really got a glimpse of what our day to day can be when pedestrian-life wins thanks to the Downtown Development Authority. To us, it felt like the entire city was setting an intention for Miami’s 2017 and it’s powerful, to say the least.

The (free) magic continues this weekend with a jam-packed lineup starting off Thursday, January 12th with the first of two dance classes on the pop-up promenade: Tango al Fresco. Learn the tantalizing moves of the classic Argentinian dance by Tango in Miami with Diego Santana Tango. Enjoy authentic cuisine by Gaucho Ranch and Fufi Empanadas, and sip on deep red wine and hand-crafted cocktails by Acme Lounge from 7PM – 10PM. Find out more here.

Kicking off the weekend is the start of the Biscayne Live concert series, right in the heart of the city. This Friday, we welcome Latin GRAMMY-winning singer, Raquel Sofia for what will be a spell-binding performance. Plus, the stage is filled with more Latin tunes from Javi Garcia, Paula Arenas, and Sol Ruiz. Enjoy fresh cocktails and local craft beer by Mac’s Pubs, and grub by Miami Smokers, Wynwood Parlor, and Paleta Vendetta. Pop-Up vendors include French75Vintage & more to be announced. The big night of the weekend culminates this Saturday, January 14th for Downtown Miami’s first food festival: Taste of Downtown. The greens will come alive to the flavors of culinary favorites: Manna Life Food, Toro Toro, The River Seafood and Oyster Bar, Local Boy Poke, Alloy Bistro Gourmet, Biscayne Tavern, Sparky’s Roadside Barbecue, PM Fish & Steak House Brickell, NIU Kitchen, PB Station, Fooq’s Miami, ButterflyBall
and even more to be announced. Jam to the tunes of local bands like Brendan O’Hara and Alejandro Elizondo, and enjoy hand-crafted cocktails by Mac’s Pubs. This all happens from 6PM – 10PM, get more info here.

Rounding it all out is the second of three outdoor film screenings at Biscayne Screen with O Cinema on Sunday, January 15th from 7PM – 10PM. This past Sunday, the crowd gathered for a tribute to musical talents gone too soon so we continue the series with “Marley”. Enjoy drinks by Mac’s Pubs, fresh Fufi Empanadas, a pop-up cheese stand by Whole Foods Market, popcorn by Boxelder Craft Beer Market and delicious sammies from Wynwood Parlor. Find out more here.
