What comes to mind when “body-art” is mentioned in relation to the beautiful city of Miami? Kat Von D and Miami Ink? The famed strip of Washington Ave?
Well, it’s time to embrace a new definition of body-art – and that is exercise. All throughout Miami, from South Beach to Wynwood, exercise has grown to become more than just an activity. It is a form of community engagement, personal wellness, and exploration. With locals meeting in various parks, beaches, and streets in the area – now is the time to join in!
If peace and rejuvenation are of interest, then a great way to get started is with yoga in the park!
Every Monday evening at 7pm the One Yoga Foundation provides a professional instructor to hold a by-donation class at Margaret Pace Park. A small group gathers and enjoys a chill vinyasa flow under the palm trees. Each class is filled with beginners and true yogis alike – just remember to bring a mat. The ambiance is welcoming, and the instructor maintains an active, learning environment.
After finding yourself in a harmonious, community-centered group, it is hard not to immediately engage in every movement and breath. The style of yoga is focused on gentle postures and coordinated breathing. It can be considered a form of foundational yoga where focus and unity are key components. At the end of the evening, you will walk away feeling refreshed and relieved.
