With all the partying and celebrating under our belt (for now), as you snuggle in your sheets hazily remembering the events of this past Halloween weekend, rest comforted in the fact that Miami still has many tricks up its sleeve. From outdoor movies to relish in the newfound dropped temperatures and experiential architecture at its finest, to diversified concert series and getting your sweat on in unconventional spaces, November is looking like it has tons to be thankful for.

Monday, November 2nd:
Sky Wave Yoga – Come together with community to create an energetic presence in heart of Miami Beach with a sacred yoga flow and live crystal bowl sound bath on the top deck of the 1111 Lincoln Road landmark. On the first Mondays of every month, join masterful Jodi Carey as she leads body and mind through a sunset service with a profound physical and spiritual grounding. Bring your mat.

Miami Book Fair Pre-Fair Event – The Miami International Book Fair is rapidly approaching, and in order to keep our literal thrills alive, they’ve got some great pre-fair goodies in store. In her inspiring memoir, Find a Way, Diana Nyad recounts her record-breaking swim from Cuba to Florida — at the age of sixty-four. Listen to her recount stories and snag a book for yourself.

Tuesday, November 3rd:
What’s New(t) Miami? – NEWT and ARTtuesdays/MIAMI—with the generous support of the The Miami Foundation and MDC Museum of Art + Design—present a lively conversation with two of the winners of Our Miami Public Space Challenge. Enjoy a cocktail reception by Perrier and Bombay Saphhire before an intimate Q&A with some of the citie’s most creative visionaries.

Thursday, November 5th:
Movies Under the Stars – You know what they say: third time’s a charm! MIFF brings the award-winning Argentinian film: Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales) to A+E. Complimentary Barton & Guestier wine for the first hour, grub by Gaucho Ranch, sweet treats from Mad Chiller and Ma-Ka-Rohn, and Airstream Apothecary’s handcrafted cocktails. Friday, November 6th:
HOUSE OF CREATIVES – Mishu Live and Poplife Present a meeting of Miami’s most creative and forward-thinking minds in independent music and arts. Featuring live performances by: Brazilian Girls, The HoNGs, Millionyoung, Bluejay, Grey 8s and DJ Sets by: Aramis Lorie (poplife), Ray Milian (off the radar), and Patrick Walsh (klangbox/ Electric Pickle). There’ll also be art installations, pop-up shops, food… and happy hour from 5pm – 7pm.

Fort Lauderdale IFF – The second film in Fort Lauderdale’s International Film Festival opening release party is JACO, the life and legacy of pioneering electric bassist, Jaco Pastorius, who produced a sound from his fretless electric bass unlike any heard before him. A bassist’s bassist, Pastorius is and remains their Hendrix. Featuring interviews with Joni Mitchell, Sting, Herbie Hancock, William “Bootsy” Collins, and more. A Q&A with Robert Trujillo & Paul Marchand will follow the film.

Saturday, November 7th:
Ludlam Trail Inaugural Bike Ride + Family Picnic – The Ludlam Trail has converted the FEC railways into a lush, bike-friendly trail and a linear park with bike paths, playgrounds, public art installations and community gardens. They kick-off the season with Fall Fest, a family event where the trail is ridden for the first time. There will be food, fun activities, and a celebration of nature where Linear Parks are the way to go!

Sunday, November 8th:
Miami Make Week: Upcycled Illuminations – Make your own small home lighting design with recycled corrugated cardboard, laser cutting, and basic circuits. Learn how to make 2D vector drawings and convert them to be laser cut; develop a simple circuit to create an energy efficient LED light with switch and assemble the product. You’ll get to take your own new Eco Light Design home!

Tuesday, November 10th:
Unveiling NEWT – After their Caffeinated Conversations at A+E, Join NEWT for the grand premiere with a live performance by the sublime Nu Deco Ensemble orchestra, followed by a private reception at 7:30 PM at the InterContinental Miami hotel. Inspired by Sir Isaac Newton’s ideas of color and sound, composer Kelly Nunes will transport viewers to a state of synesthesia with music adapted to the hotel’s 19 stories of brilliant animation.

Wednesday, November 11th:
Extrasensory Yoga in the Park – Bayfront Park Free Yoga at Tina Hills Pavilion to celebrate experiential architecture. Enjoy headphones by Silent Revolution, squeezes from jugofresh, Perrier and NEWT Miami: Experiments in Light, Color & Sound combine in an extrasensory edition of yoga with LED headphones and the most flavorful refreshments ever.

Thursday, November 12th:
Our House Special Edition: Twin Shadow – Thompson will be hosting a special edition of their weekly party, Our House, featuring critically acclaimed band Twin Shadow in the ‘backyard.’ Additionally, DJ Will Buck and local artist Jona Cerwinski will spin in the 1930s House following the live performance. Valet parking is available for $10 with a cocktail or culinary validation; $9 drink specials and a full menu of global tapas will be available in the 1930s House.
