#PressPlay: Lord Huron
October 16, 2015
The hustle and bustle of the city streets creates such a buzz, sometimes we get so use to it we forget what a breath of fresh air actually feels like. Need a reminder? Pop those headphones on and press play. Lord Huron is an indie folk group started by the Michigan to LA transplant/digital artist turned musician, Ben Schneider. He uses the soothing tone of his voice paired with a little help from his friends to create intoxicating rhythms that reconnect you to the present moment. They bring you back to earth. Evoking a Carpe Diem mentality that makes you want to hop in the car and drive wherever the road leads you.
Their most recent release, Strange Trails, takes on a more upbeat tone than its predecessor, Lonesome Dreams. In no way can you take a listen and not be compelled to clap your hands or move your feet, with tunes centering around a crazy little thing called love. This band brings you a cocktail of sounds mixing rockabilly, Americana, folk, and dash of world influence that will keep you wanting to drink their Kool-Aid. So sit back, relax, and take the journey with Lord Huron.
I highly recommend listening to either album from front to back, but here are a few tunes to spark your soon to be addiction to Lord Huron.
